Public rooms and private sessions are different decisions
The difference is bigger than a paywall. A public room lets you observe a live space; a private session changes the setting, the billing, and the expectations.

A public room usually gives you a chance to see the current show and chat environment before choosing anything else. It is a good place to decide whether you like the room's pace and whether the platform feels clear about its controls.
Public does not mean you should share personal details. Keep chat casual, use a username that does not expose you, and leave if the room is not a fit.
Private sessions
A private session is usually billed differently and has its own terms. Before you start, confirm the listed rate, the unit used for billing, whether there is a minimum, and what happens if the connection drops.
Do not assume that a room's public description answers those questions. Read the private-session information on the platform itself.
A good rule of thumb
Browse first. Pay only when the room details are clear and you are comfortable with the rate. If you are new to a platform, review its privacy and account controls before you add a payment method.
